Ingredients
16 Slices White bread- trim off crust-cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1/2 lb. shredded cheese
2-3 cups diced ham or bacon (smoked is best)
6 extra lg. eggs
1 tsp, salt
White pepper to taste
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup melted butter
Directions
Foil a 12-14 inch, deep, Dutch oven. Butter it heavily.
Layer bread, meat and cheese x 2.
Pour on egg /milk/salt-pepper mixture.
Drizzle butter over top.
Cover and refrigerate 12-24 hrs.
Cook at 350 Degrees for 1/2 hr. w/ bottom coals. Add top coals and cook additional 1/2 hr. Rotate top and bottom every 15 min.
