BBQ1 can provide for your catering needs ranging from small groups to huge corporate events. Our catering operation is managed by David Poe. David has been catering for over 30 years. His father, Richard Poe, founded their barbecue and catering operation, Stump and Sons in 1975. David has brought his own unique brand of barbecue to groups as large as 10,000 people. David won Georgia's first State Championship at the Big Pig Jig in 1985. He has the skill and experience to help you design and custom-fit a barbecue event that will be truly memorable.
For groups of 50 people or less, we suggest that you call BBQ1 one week prior to your event. For groups this size, it is most cost effective for you to come by BBQ1 to pick up all of the food yourself. The costs are basically the same prices as those that appear on the BBQ1 menu. Any of the people at BBQ1 can help you with quantities, cost of paper products, etc. Please call 770-977-3005 if you have further questions.
However, if you need to plan an event for greater than 50 people, call David Poe directly on his cell phone at
404-226-2735. He will work with you to custom-design an event to meet your needs.
For really special events, if cost is not really an issue for you, Sam Huff will bring his competition team cooking trailer with three smokers & equipment/kitchen trailer to your site for groups of 50-350 people. This is the kind of event where you want to put on a real show. We come out on Friday, set up, prep the meats, have a steak cook-out just for you and a select few (a pre-party party), and then we stay up all night slow cooking the barbecue on wood pits, just like at a competition. Your custom cooked barbecue will be ready all day Saturday or Saturday night. Prices vary depending upon the menu. Your meal options can include whole hog, beer-can chickens, iron kettles of Brunswick stew, ribs, beef brisket, whole shoulders, dutch oven cobblers, or anything else you desire. Minimum price is $50 per person, 50 person minimum. If you are interested in this type of event, please contact Sam Huff's secretary, at 770-429-1001.
